Why cant we destroy our barrier :( I got stuck between a rock and a hard place after 5 levels...

Most of the graphics were pretty, but some of them weren't recognisable ;)
I could pick up sheep, but not build barriers or shoot. Didn't see any wolves either. No building, so I feel I have to rate you down on the gameplay (but a 3 because you at least are supposed to have building).
On a technical note, the timer seems to count down even before you start a game.

The concept was great, but the game felt a bit slow... And you can get stuck in your barriers. Very sharp and pretty graphics.

Aha! Once I started to get the concept of how it works, it made sense (and figured out that by L-shift, the author meant right shift). It doesn't fit the theme, to me - there is construction, and I suppose destruction in a way (better than most entries!), but not really "gameplay about destroying and constructing".
This is one of those games that's kind of hard to feel like you're really having a big effect on the outcome. But it's got interesting gameplay ideas, like how you are planting grass to keep them from starving, and need to build walls to stop the wolves. And I always like being able to pick up critters in games. Didn't see much purpose to it in this game though, so I only did it a couple times at the beginning.

The farmer guy is cute looking too. Straight top-down people are hard to draw.

Kuja

A very interesting game. Froze the first time I tried to run it but ran the second time. I like how the sheep starve themselves to death, and the graphics were decent.

Pretty fun for a while. Wolves eating sheep eating grass adds makes for a nice ecosystem feel. Some nice sound effects, but the music is really annoying when the loop is so short.

mrfun

I liked it - Very cool graphics and the movement was good, but yeah, I kept getting stuck too. (spawned inside barriers at the start of levels a few times)

So I left it and went to the kitchen for a while and when I got back I was on level 15! It plays itself! Sound was ok but I dropped the score a bit because some of the .wav's were dated from 2000.

nonnus29

Catchy tune, graphics pretty good, too hard and kinda boring.

mfassett

This is pretty good. The instructions said the left shift, left ctrl buttons for firing and building, but it's the right ctrl and shift buttons. This makes it look like the game doesn't work (until you figure out that the instructions are incorrect).

It took a while to figure out that the sheep died from lack of food, and that you needed to walk over the ground where they are eating to replenesh the grass.

One thing that annoyed me was that the player always started in the top left corner, and that three quarters of the screen is black. The first time I played, it was a bit confusing.

There's still a lot to do in the balancing department. The goal to have one sheep survive is too easy by far, I survived level 5 by doing nothing, as I was stuck in the starting place. Another trick seems to be to just pick up one sheep and wait until the time is over (the only drawback is: the program crashes if the timer hits zero and I still have it on my arms).
And you could decrease the darkness of the eaten grass, normally sheep don't byte it down to the mould. At first I thought the dark blocks were a graphics bug.
Ah, I figured out another strategy: build a 3x3 fence and insert a sheep. This should to the trick unless a wolf beams right into that construction.
Synopsis: Don't be angry about all my criticism, only because you added so many elements (which I think is good and not many of the others did) you build a quite complex game which isn't easy to balance and debug.

Impossible

Interesting, although not very challenging and kind of tedious. I don't really see the point of build barriers. The game was cool in the earlier levels, but in levels 9 and 10 I got stuck in the corner and couldn't do anything. It would be more interesting if you had to keep X amount of sheep alive, and if the random levels worked better.

Jolle

Nice gfx and sound
The game crashed when I walked into a wolf

segludian

Not sure, but I think the black bars above the sheep are errors.

A little more about how to play the game in the readme would have helped. I am assuming that green squares are sheep food and turn brown when eaten and are restored when the farmer walks over them.

I have a hard time telling if I am winning or loosing. I seem to die without knowing why, I am thinking that the wolf ate one too many of my sheep.

Overall - 3 - Not bad, probably would have given you an extra point if it was funner. I weigh fun pretty heavily in Overall.
Gameplay Innovation - 3 - Pretty standard fare, nothing really new gamplay wise. However, most all the games are that way so average score.
Fun - 2 - Sorry, I have a hard time figuring out what is
going on or why I died, so a point down from average
Graphics - 3 - Would have given you 4 but the black bars above the sheep look like an error so I knocked you down a bit.
Sound - 4 - You have OK sound effects and music that doesn't drive me nuts so above average
Technical - 3 - Nothing really sticks out to me as new and technically exciting, but it doesn't seem broken either so it gets an average score.
Gameplay Theme - 4 - You have construction of walls and destruction of wolves so above average since most everyone else only has construction or destruction.
Cosmetic Theme - 4 - It has sheep and they are worked into the gameplay a bit.
Completeness - 4 - It is an actual game which is worth 3 points, you get an extra point for having a title screen, and getting the game to restart nicely.

Good idea, though the implementation has a few flaws, mainly that you can't pass through or destory your own barriers. Also, no destruction... It would be so much more fun if I could get barriers...
